Rubbed Sage

Newman’s Own Rubbed Sage takes the full flavor of fresh dried sage leaves, rubbed into a light, fluffy powder for easy blending.

Sage has a woody, piney aroma with a pepper-like earthy, warm and spicy, almost balsamic flavor. To substitute for fresh sage, use twice as much rubbed sage as ground sage. One ounce (2 tablespoons) of rubbed sage can replace 1 cup of fresh sage.
