Move over, boring weeknight dinners! This pasta dish adds variety to your menu with Newman’s Own Marinara Sauce.

Use fresh shrimp or even frozen if you’re in a pinch. Serve with a fresh salad and garlic bread for a delicious anytime dinner everyone will love.

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 pound peeled, cleaned, deveined medium shrimp
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 jar Newman’s Own® Marinara Sauce, or Organic Marinara Sauce
  • 1 tsp dried leaf basil
  • dash Newman’s Own Organic Ground Cayenne or Organic Crushed Red Chili Pepper Flakes
  • Cooked pasta



In a medium saucepan, heat oil; cook onion, green pepper, and garlic until tender. Add pasta sauce and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.


Add shrimp, cover and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, until shrimp are tender.


Serve shrimp marinara with hot cooked pasta.
