This fresh spinach salad is easy to make and tasty to eat. Pair Newman’s Own Honey Mustard dressing with a little chaat masala for a fruity and peppery salad.

  • 1 Tbsp Newman’s Own Honey Mustard Salad Dressing
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ tsp chaat masala (available at Indian grocery stores)
  • juice from ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Newman’s Own Coarse Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh spinach
  • 2/3 cup garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • Newman’s Own Sea Salt Flakes



To make dressing: In a medium bowl, combine honey mustard dressing, ginger, olive oil, chaat masala, lemon juice, sugar, and black pepper. Whisk until thoroughly mixed. Set aside.


Heat 1 tsp of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add cumin and mustard seeds and heat through. Add Garbanzo beans, salt, and stir to combine. Sauté for about 2 minutes and set aside.


Onto individual plates, divide spinach, onion, and tomato. Top with cooked garbanzo beans and a drizzle of dressing, toss, and serve.
