Newman’s OwnTM Organic Ground Turmeric has a subtle, warm, slightly bitter, earthy black pepper-like flavor, and a pungent, almost mustard-like aroma. Mostly in savory dishes, but also is used in some sweet dishes, a must for curry. It is often used as much for color as for flavor. Use it in soups, with vegetables, rice, in tea, on hummus.
Common in South Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine.
